And just who was it who whispered the truth in your ear?

But in the fractal world, natural examples include fern leaf edges and shorelines and lightning strikes and romanesco broccoli. Notice that there is self similarity at ANY scale. Now if you would like to say the same thing is true for a whole galaxy, zoom into a galaxy by a factor of a thousand and show me that it looks similar to what it did before the zoom. Go ahead. If you can’t, I suggest that you invent a new term called Seftonese scaling to describe similarity only at scales separated by thirty orders of magnitude. -- Odd Bodkin — Maker of fine toys, tools, tables

Go ahead. Imvvvho, things can "sound" fractal in nature. A universe can contain clusters upon clusters of galaxies. A cluster of galaxies contains galaxies. A galaxy contains stars. Stars can own some planets in orbit. Planets can own intelligent life. Intelligent Life can own individual unique thoughts. The number of thoughts can be virtually limitless. Zoom down into virtually any form on say, Earth, and we can see fractals. Can there be fractional units of distance between two Planck pixels, or voxels if you will? > > If you can’t, I suggest that you invent a new term called Seftonese scaling > to describe similarity only at scales separated by thirty orders of > magnitude. >

Galaxies are made of atoms. That is the only possible base unit. This they are made from self-similar forms.

Chris “ Is there such thing as a Planck voxel? Or is it all 2d?” You mean a little spherical “smallest”? Between Odd’s ears- it’s his brain. No ‘smallest’ because smaller is smaller

In my "insignificant" terms, a Planck cube would be a voxel. Afaict, even a Planck pixel, a square, would have fractional measurements within itself. > Between Odd’s ears- it’s his brain. > > No ‘smallest’ because smaller is smaller >

That’s a different place. that could be the problem john has, what is magnification ? wider or smaller angular dispersion, how close you are with your microscope, or telescope

Sergio “ that could be the problem john has, what is magnification ? wider or smaller angular dispersion, how close you are with your microscope, or telescope “ Well, if you magnify your Atom so it’s as big as a galaxy, then they are identical. How’s that? Can Odd’s tiny brain comprehend that?

Or is that pretty word too hard to let go of? > I think the point to make clear to you, John, is that it’s bad enough that the idea is factually wrong. But worse than that, you don’t know enough physics to know why it has to be wrong, and even when presented with little things like conservation of angular momentum, you just double down as though none of that matters. And what’s even worse than that, you use words to describe your idea like “fractal” because they are cool-sounding, even though you don’t actually know what the terms mean. Your chief complaint against science is that you believe that if it’s gobbledygook to the uneducated common man then it’s gobbledygook, period. Second, that if science were right then it would have solved all the world’s problems by now. So you you want to play too, and you pretend to do science the way you wish it were, all very simple and visual, and gosh, precessing atoms might well free the world from plastics, because saying “gee whiz” will make it so. You have the mindset and attitudes of an eleven-year-old boy, John, when it comes to science. Might as well just stick to consuming Doc Savage pulp novels. -- Odd Bodkin -- maker of fine toys, tools, tables
