Than is a totally different question. At best there is evidence. LIGO observations make that assumption and it seems to work. At least it is consistent with observed data. Anyone who dismisses a confirmed observation as “impossible” is living in denial. Spacetime is the medium. Please note that the analysis of the properties of spacetime is what led to the prediction of gravitational waves in the first place. Define spacetime clearly and show how light travels through it. After that we shall see whether spacetime exists or not, and how valid it is in comparison with aether medium filling our infinite universe.

I found these the shonkiest subjects I have ever studied.
