Uhm ... aren't you forgetting something? Your armband and jackboots. You
need to be wearing the proper uniform when you say those things, not
sitting in your underwear in your mother's basement frothing impotently
to Usenet as the Big Blue Wave bears down on your precious midterms.

Antarctica was completely melted before, in the history of Earth wrt
cycles of cooling and warming periods. I think it had lush forests,
filled with all sorts of exotic life forms.

It used to be closer to the equator, and non-glaciated, back about 550
million years ago, before trees and vertebrates evolved.

Afaict, there were periods in the Earths history where virtually no ice
sheets existed. Cycles where the tropical temperatures extended up into
the poles.

There has never been a time on Earth when tropical temperatures extended
up into the poles? Can you point me to some research? Thanks.

Close. There were redwoods above the Arctic Circle 55 million years ago
and open water at the pole. Climate comparable to today's Washington State
perhaps.

Yep

"Stretching from about 66-34 million years ago, the Paleocene and Eocene
were the first geologic epochs following the end of the Mesozoic Era. (The
Mesozoic—the age of dinosaurs—was itself an era punctuated by "hothouse"
conditions.) Geologists and paleontologists think that during much of the
Paleocene and early Eocene, the poles were free of ice caps, and palm trees
and crocodiles lived above the Arctic Circle. The transition between the two
epochs around 56 million years ago was marked by a rapid spike in global
temperature."

Okay. Keep in mind that you sure seem to be suggesting that Ice Age's
have never existed on Earth? Also, you seem to be suggesting that warm
temps never extended out into the poles. Perhaps not tropical, but warm
enough to grow lush flora that can only exist in warmer temps.

Sorry if I am misrepresenting you here.

Are you a Bot?
