Then let me provide it again.

"The tropical Arctic

Another stretch of Earth history that scientists count among the planet's
warmest occurred about 55-56 million years ago. The episode is known as the
Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM).

Stretching from about 66-34 million years ago, the Paleocene and Eocene were
the first geologic epochs following the end of the Mesozoic Era. (The
Mesozoic-the age of dinosaurs-was itself an era punctuated by "hothouse"
conditions.) Geologists and paleontologists think that during much of the
Paleocene and early Eocene, the poles were free of ice caps, and palm trees
and crocodiles lived above the Arctic Circle. The transition between the two
epochs around 56 million years ago was marked by a rapid spike in global
temperature."

Well, I can supply counter evidence.

I've seen a few of the Simon's Cat videos. Simon knows cats very well...
right down to the lick your face, followed by the 180 degree turn. I had

No need to apologize to an idiot like you, either.

Climate change has gone from one extreme to the other throughout Earth's
history. That's why it's ludicrous to be overly concerned about a degree
or two, whether it's actually provably man-made or not, and it's even
more ludicrous to think we can "reverse" it.

Yeah... Imvho, the main point is that there really is no practical way
we can reverse the current cycle: Agreed. Reducing pollution is fine,
however, it will not be able to stop nature from doing its natural
thing, so to speak.

With the world's population as high as it is, and the economy as fragile
as it is, we're very energy-dependent, and we're simply going to have to
live with that. Alternative energy sources and improved energy storage
systems are probably our best bet as to anything we can realistically do
to lower CO2 output, but compared to historical long term climate
changes, this is nothing.
