Huntington Beach is not built like a bay. Thus wave can not build(get funneled) Still the area is flat and a 40 foot wave would go inland a long way.Beaches here have fine white sand, very deep.Good for making sand objects.Bert

I have been to Huntington Beach during the filming of Dragnet, got kicked off
by assistant director.

That area is flat because it was repeatedly wiped by tsunami.

I am on an island far from the Big Island of Hawaii.
Haiku, Maui is 180 miles from hot lava.

If you want nice rock in California, Glass Mountain has obsidian for free
in the far North East, near Oregon.

Are you in North America?

Jeeze! Don't tell Bert that! He's Jewish. Next thing you know he'll be
up there loading his van and M&M will be selling "genuine" Hawaiian lava
for $20 a piece!
