you should read more than the first few sentances of wiki, and then look
at other sites, Sonobouys have far more applications and designs than
just military.

The Sonobouys we used were dropped from airplanes, and sampled the
atmosphere on the way down for weather where Hurricane Hunters went,
they were very lightweight, interesting design, and you can find them on
the shores of beaches.

Now Sonobouys have GPS and talk to sattilittes when floating on the
water, therefore you can track them, and determine ocean currents.

you could not do this before GPS.

Extra Credit Question: What Year was GPS first available ?

SO, the strength of Ocean Currents were not quantifiable before 1960.

therefore the article ramains FAKE NEWS

wrong again! you should read these things you googlespew forth, that
article is about *mud particle size* only.

from the abstract;
"Therefore, to infer water mass advection speeds (i.e., the mean kinetic
energy of the flow, KM), regions of high eddy kinetic energy (KE) must
be avoided."

reading.

Which means they are inferring water mass advection speeds. Which means
they are measuring the speed of the AMOC at various times in the past --
including before there were monitoring buoys.

You get an F! you got 2 Fs today for poor reading comprehension or not

No, he says that to successfully infer the speed of the current, places
where there were *eddies* have to be avoided.

You get an F! you got 3 Fs today for poor reading comprehension or not
reading. And counting.

Do you have an academic degree? No? Well both of us do, hers a
bachelor's in computer science and me a physics Ph.D. ... you might want
to defer to the actual experts who know a thing or two about how to
science. Before you embarrass yourself further.

If you had a degree, you would have read the abstract, and agreed with
me about the quoted sentence in the abstract;

"We cannot use size distributions to distinguish the nature of the
currents."

but since you deferred instead addressing that fact, to saying you have
a degree, then I believe you do not have a degree.

       hardly any smoke, few mirrors

You have instead demonstrated the lack of depth of knowledge to discuss
science issues, and the professionalism a degree brings.

I am waiting for you or nads, self proclaimed experts, to now actually
demonstrate a knowledge of a thing or two in science.

  we are waiting.....

          the clock is ticking.....

Believe what you want (despite evidence). It's what kooks do.

Already did, in earlier threads, multiple times. Go reread the entire
newsgroup from January 1, 2018 until now. And shut up until you've
finished it all.

you posted 1 equation you could not explain the origins of, nor
understand, and you posted it for kensi because you said it was hard for
her.

from kensi pupa, nothing,(she still learning), just c+p oddball stuff

126 days and no science from either of you twin bulll shittters.

you both proved you cannot read nor understand an "Abstract" to a paper.

for homework, google " abstract "
