We had ticks all over the place on the Missouri farm where I was raised. We regularly had to pull dug-in ticks off our bodies and the dogs, OMG. We pulled dozens of ticks off them almost daily. Then we got a good-size flock of banty chickens and the ticks were no longer in evidence around the house, at least. Chickens love to eat ticks and insects.
