I would bet there are scriptable programs on Windows to do that but I admit
I would need to look into it. But, sure, you could do the same on OS X
(though you might need to get some of the command line tools).

Sticking to the CLI in this day and age with the incredible power being afforded for next-to-nothing makes no sense. You like Linux because it takes you back to the good ol' days when you were young, when your dick still got hard and people didn't see you as an old bag of memories. However, everyone else is enjoying these innovations and isn't holding on to a "better time." I sometimes fondly look back at the IBM PS/1 I got in 1991 and held onto until 1994 when I figured out a way to upgrade despite my lack of income. Everyone had a better computer than I did and had the ability to change parts unlike me, but something about that shitty, partly-defective computer brings a smile to my face.
