Rather, it hangs on the precision quantitative agreement with observational
data.
Which is bountiful and what scientists look for.
You don’t. There’s the difference.

In other words IT DOESNT MATTER whether you think the ideas make sense to
you. The ONLY thing that matters is the stuff you dismiss as bean counting.

Well, observations show that atoms are spheres.
So, you say that photons develope in there SOMEWHERE.

First off, that’s wrong, and if you think there are observations that show
they are spheres then cite the experiments. Meanwhile, atoms with unfilled
outer shells are not round, as experiments in magnetic fields show.

Geez people have to say things four or five times to you. Must be the pot.
Photons originate at charged particles. So at electrons and protons, or if
you like, electrons and quarks.

What if there are no quarks? Just protons
coming together with electrons?
forming neutrons?

How does a subatomic particle blow bubbles in
a Bubble chamber? Come on really...

Yes, you've said that so many times.

So, WHERE would the photon be?
Among the 'distributed' electron?
Or closer to the central nucleus?

You keep asking where the photon would be, as though it is being crafted
over a period of time in some internal assembly line in the atom, like a
protein inside a cell.

It is EMITTED from a charged object, wherever that charged object happens
to be at that moment of emission.
If it’s the electron that emitted it, it happens where the electron is. If
it is the proton that emitted it, then it is where the proton happened to
be. Notice that no measurement will ever be able to fix a single point
where that emission occurred. It is counter to the laws of physics (which
by the way don’t CARE what you think should be knowable or not) that it
would be so localizable.

From the 'distributed' electron?
Which is spread out.
Why do they talk about this, then:

'if experimentally probed at very short distances, the intrinsic structure of the photon is recognized as a flux of quark and gluon components, quasi-free according to asymptotic freedom in QCD and described by the photon structure function.' ?

Do you understand Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle? (wait, no need to
answer that!) When you are talking about energies of that level, yes you
can pinpoint an electron's location to a high degree, but the energy and
momentum are WAY above that of the typical photon emitted by an electron
transitioning shells, so that as an answer to "where did the photon come
from" is meaningless?

And on the other hand, do you know how large (wavelength) a typical photon
emitted by an electron transitioning shells is? No? I didn't think so.
That makes the answer to your question like trying to pinpoint the location
of the USS Nimitz to a particular cubic centimeter.

A physics model is not a picture. You keep saying physics has no model,
which means to you it has no picture. That’s not what a physics model is.
It’s not smart to stand next to a soda machine and ask over and over again
where the well pump handle is.
