Time is up, pencils down.

==================
Note: I corrected a few typos from a previous post of this:
I had 150 twice instead of 150 and 175
and I mistyped (R/N) instead of (R/V)
Below is the corrected copy
==================

P= N * (R/V) * T

The test air water mixture has N=1.009, so
P= 1.009 * (R/V) * T
At T=125C the pressure is P = 1.3734 atm
At T=150C the pressure is P = 1.4597 atm
At T=175C the pressure is P = 1.5459 atm

The dry air control sample has N=1.000, so
P= 1.000 * (R/V) * T
At T=125C the pressure is P = 1.3612 atm
At T=150C the pressure is P = 1.4466 atm
At T=179C the pressure is P = 1.5321 atm

IF they tracked parallel the difference between pressures
at each temperature would be the same.
(Think about it JM. Parallel lines are always the
same distance apart.)

But we see that the difference continues to increase.
At T=125C the pressure difference is 0.0122 atm
At T=150C the pressure difference is 0.0131 atm
At T=175C the pressure difference is 0.0138 atm

Therefore the two plots DO NOT TRACT PARALLEL.

You really need to get an 8th grader to help you with your
homework. Your basic math skills are ugly as dirt!!

Ed

to track parallel, the equation would need an additive term that was
changed.  (parallel)

a change to the multiplicative term, changes the slope (non-parallel)

Okay. I think you got a point. It does veer off about .0008. I'm thinking that maybe it is the fact that we didn't start at absolute zero. Whatever the case, I do think that you are right about it veering off--slightly--as you suggest. So, I stand corrected.

Congratulations, Jim. Progress.

I'll try to get back to this when I can, but things have gotten hectic
here.

Ed, would you care to explain what in the world you were thinking when (in your previous graph--upthread) you indicated that the pressure would veer upward sharply above boiling? As you can see not only did it not do this it flattened out to a slope that is barely steeper than the gas only slope.

Seriously, what in the world were you thinking? Do you have any explanation?

You are going to complain about the resolution of
and ASCII plot??????????

Seriously? The whole point was to show they diverge.
It obviously was not to scale.

You are just posting that to get attention.
Don't worry I haven't forgotten about you.

Or, Jim, perhaps you *should* worry that Ed hasn't forgotten about you. After all, he has completely ripped you a new a$$hole in this thread and is bound to do even more damage to your pathetic theories if you insist on continuing.

But then again, it is great entertainment to see you squirm like a work on a hook... even though you are entirely too stupid to know it... kinda like a lobster in a pot, who just can't see what's coming...

  McGinn the Lobster says;

water cannot boil if it is liquid, and there is no such thing as Water
Vapor, why is it so hot in here ?

Absolute zero, Jim? You can't start at absolute zero, nothing can exist at absolute zero. Just more evidence that you haven't got a clue...

Two.  One is a control.

It would be virtually impossible without a fixed container.

This is what you claim. I'm claiming a slightly steeper slope until boiling, then it will be linear.

It's not my world. It is the world of reality, not the world of whackos that buy into simple models.

You are dumber than Sergio. And that is really dumb.

It's impossible to believe anybody would hire you as an engineer.

I should be asking you that.

WTF does that mean?
Does it mean a CHANGING slope before the boiling point is reached?
Does it mean two different slopes? (Which is what I said in another post)

This is the critical part. What exactly is your prediction?

Waiting,  Ed

Yes.  Obviously.

> Does it mean two different slopes? (Which is what I said in another post)

Jesus frickin Christ. How many times do I have to explain this. Obviously the one with moisture will be slightly steeper AS THE FRICKIN NANODROPLETS BOIL!!! Afterward the the slow angle will be the same as BOTH FRICKIN SAMPLES CONFORM TO IDEAL GAS LAWS.

Surreal. Are you retarded? Seriously. Are you?

Steeper means steeper, dumbass.

Obviously.

You failed, and now you are trying to take it out on me.

So, are you hereby waving the white flag on your equilibrium theory?

Maybe you should consider a gentler hobby.

You make retarded arguments supported only by your imagination.
