Right. And presumably the best choice you can find... I mean why would you
not use that? Maybe out of habit? But unless there is a good answer it is
the best choice... and as you admit it has a significant weakness.

Again, not putting you down for it. My Usenet client SUCKS! But it has some
pretty good abilities in terms of "smart folders" and so I stick with it
(and there is simply nothing free on macOS I have found which I like).

You prefer a tool that does not work well because you do not value good
tools? Or prefer it because even with its weaknesses it is the best you can
find on Linux?

I gave an answer.
You are just composed of dense stupidity.

I can use slrn, T-Bird, Knode, Pan , etc.

I admit no weakness.
I can use a spell-checker, I *choose* not to.
Let your spell checker do the work.

Which is why you're both stupid for using rare OSs. Use windows and have a huge array of choice for newsreaders and every other program.

Ah, you like to use what is common... no matter what downsides it might
have. OK.

But that does not mean Windows always has the best-of-class software NOT the
best workflows.

Well, I do have to hit the letter F for follow-up, or P for post. ;)
It opens the editor in the same full screen terminal window.
I edit the follow-up, save it, the editor closes, and goes back to the
thread/post view, I hit Y to send it.

It's really easy, legible to me more than any other newsreader, and that
all happens seemlessly. I don't see windows opening, closing.

I also have pan/knode ... put I heavily prefer slrn.

I'll stick to the more modern interface thanks.

Mine is super modern
Slrn runs full screen, no title bars, no window borders, and transparent.
I can see/read a Firefox window thru the slrn window.
Really nice on a laptop.

Right... years ago I used tin. I moved away from the '80 long ago. But if
people prefer such tools I have no issue with it.

Perhaps his brain is not capable of handling a GUI interface.

Would love to see a video of you using it. Not likely my cup of tea -- I
prefer three panel GUI clients -- but still would be interested.

Yeah, I know how that goes. :)
Google slrn, look at screen shots.
Not sure how many people run it in a transparent window fullscreen.
Easy enough to imagine, I suppose.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
