Based on your behavior in here that is certainly a questionable statement.

Nor does it reduce the level of bigotry your comments show!

Ethiopian food is AMAZING.

Mostly stews and a flat sourdough bread called injera. Here:
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_cuisine>

I have made a number of recipes myself but my injera rarely comes out that
great. Edible but I need to improve it.

You have a right to demand special entitlements... but others are not
obligated to give them to you.

Now apply it to EVERYONE.

Where things do get a bit complex is in trying to find some level of balance
for those who have clear obstacles in front of them that those in control do
not. We know, for example, that just having a name that sounds "black" leads
to resumes being less successful. Do we create a preference system to try to
balance that... something like affirmative action? Some on the left are very
strongly for that but I do not see it as being effective and in practice
when do you deem it no longer worth it, how do you balance it fairly, etc.

Those on the right just want to pretend the issue of discrimination does not
exist (or they focus on absurd things like claims of a war on Christmas).
That is also not going to really move things forward in a useful way.

No good answers for some of those things... and plenty of room for reasoned
debate. But the general principle of equal rights over special entitlements
is, to me, a no-brainer.

Equal rights doesn't work. You end up with companies being required to have a certain percentage of blacks, women, etc, even though they aren't necessarily the best for the job.

Not for those who insist they want more than "equal", such as those who
demand special entitlements.

Did you read my comments, above? I talked about this challenge. If you have
a good solution for it I would love to hear it.

I do think we can look at those who are from poor neighborhoods and work to
equalize things there ... black, white, or green, does not matter. And stop
funding school districts with property taxes... that is stupid and leads to
problems that last for generations.

what a bunch of snowflake crybaby made-up bullshit.

where i grew up, 99.7% of everybody was white. so were the people working at any company in that town. they weren't *required* to do shit.

all of my teachers over 12 years - white.
all of the kids in my school - white.
all of the guys working at the feed mill - white.
all of the guys selling harleys and corvettes out of showrooms - white.

In general progressives work toward equal rights and environmental
protection, conservatives work toward special entitlements.

Hell! Working with, and for me before I retired there were Whites,
Blacks, Hispanics, Puerto Ricans, Filipinos, Koreans, Vietnamese,
Samoans, Chinese, Japanese, one Pakistani, men, women, straights & gays
of both sexes, religious faithful (normal Christian, off the wall crazy
Christian, Jews, Muslims, & Budhists), athiests, good workers, and
mediocre workers from across the ethnicity spectrum.

Among that American melting pot of co-workers you could find decent
folks and total assholes, race knows no boundaries.

Well, I know this is off topic, but for folks who travel through AZ, I
*highly* recommend both of these places... been too long since I have gone
to the first and FAR too long since I went to the the second.

    <http://www.cafelalibela.com>
    <http://www.zemams.com>

Looking at their sites, though, both are doing well. Also good ones in Las
Vegas and Portland. Said I have been to three, above, but should have said I
have repeatedly been to three -- been to several others. There was one in
Vegas I was not that fond of but all the others have been great.

You seem desperate to prove Ethiopians eat food.

It would not seem that was my point to any rational person, but I will not
suggest it does not seem that way to you. Sure. Your view of the world is
yours.

And below you get even more absurd and show how you feel you can lash out
with your relative anonymity of Usenet. I wonder if you are as miserable of

You brought up nationalities and quality of food (for at least one).

I noted another that has AMAZING food (though they are certainly not the
only ones who do).

Are you sending me a gift certificate to one of those restaurants? Certainly
never asked you to but if you do I will happily use it! But I do not expect
you to... why did you even bring up the idea of feeding me?

Perhaps he's fed up of his taxes supporting foreigners?

Stress is the conflict which occurs when your mind prevents your body from beating the living daylights out of whoever got in your way.

And refugees.
Let them stay where they are, and fix their own damn problems.
We have plenty of unemployed poor people already.

When we get to 100% employment, then you allow stictly controlled
immigration.

Snit is one of the dirt poor liberals that like to espouse the spending of
other people's money.
Poorism gives him envyism which causes him to see everything as
racism/bigotryism.

I suffer from fuck'emism. :)

In the UK, we call that the "Labour government". Every time they get in they spend spend spend and increase the national debt, leaving the Conservative party to clean up the mess with cuts, which Labour then says are "mean".
