Wrong, Ersatzia. The last step (if you are talking about a
digital true-RMS meter) would be to calculate the square
root of the average square (a positive value).

The meter would:

1. Sample

2. Determine starting & ending points of the period.

3. Sqare each sample (NB: this gives ALL POSITIVE values!)

4. Average all samples over one period.

5. Compute square root of average.

6. Display result.

Of course, if you knew the voltage was a sinusoid, there
would be no need for any discrete sampling, and this is
exactly what an analog voltmeter does.

and was enraged. He went to the Trib village, and on the

Moron k'lames it displays the results only *after* everything else is
done. LOL

Wasn't DildoRider just claiming the exact opposite?

> Of course, if you knew the voltage was a sinusoid, there
> would be no need for any discrete sampling, and this is

Bullshit. Discrete sampling is required for a digital meter, you
fecking nong, because that's how they work. They simultaneously:

1) Sample the instantaneous peak-to-peak voltage of the peak-voltage
waveform within a sliding window of time. *Not* the peak voltage. The
only time peak voltage is sampled is when that sliding window of time
happens to fall at the peak of the peak-voltage waveform. Moron.

2) Square each discrete peak-to-peak voltage and store it within a
second sliding window data buffer of identical length to the sampling
sliding window.

3) When the sliding window data buffer is full, computer the square
root of the average of the squared samples within the sliding window
data buffer.

4) Display averaged result after the sliding window data buffer is
full.

If the result were not a sinewave, averaging would not be required.
The RMS value is *equivalent* to the DC voltage which would provide
the same energy to a resistive circuit as the sine wave measured.

<http://www.bcae1.com/voltages.htm>
==============================================================
Calculating Actual RMS Voltage:
If you have a 'true RMS' voltmeter, the meter measures the
instantaneous voltage at regular time intervals.

<http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/articles/rms1.gif>
<http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/isotek3/graph.png>

Now, I'll completely confuse you retards... RMS can also be calculated
using nothing but the peak voltage and the phase angle of each
discrete instantaneous time period sampled... using the Euler-Fourier
Formula.

And that's something you morons will never figure out.

SPNAK!

Mean average of the squares is not zero. Moron.

Moron yet again demonstrates that he doesn't know the difference
between RMS and peak voltage. LOL

--

Shiny Tinfoil Brain (aka Bite My Shiny Metal Ass) didn't know:
=====================================
The Euler equation is a subset of equations known as the Euler-Fourier
Formulas, thus that a sinewave is a transformation of a circle (which
should have been intuitive, given that generators *rotate* to create
*sinusoids*);

That cross correlation is used with Fourier transforms;

That superposition is the same as wave interference;

That wave interference works the same for standing or traveling waves;

That RMS and peak-to-peak voltage are two different things;

That RMS isn't a DC voltage;

That 170 volt peak, 120.208 volt RMS L-N 3-phase service gives 208.207
volts RMS L-L;

That 4444525800 != 4400000000 != 1;

The difference between frequency and period of a sinewave;

That there's no difference between 'i' and 'j' in electrical
engineering, physics and control systems engineering;

What a positive or negative vector is;

That the vector sum of 3-phase AC constitutes a closed loop per
Kirchhoff's Voltage Law, thus that the three phases sum to zero;

That "mnemonic" is not spelled "mneumonic";

That his claim: "Water is tetrahedral. It actually has 4 poles, 2
positive and 2 negative." is nonsense from a blathering moron.

That water does not have negative poles. The oxygen has an
electronegativity of 8+, the hydrogens 1+.

That the term "electronegativity" denotes a *positive* nucleal charge.

What the definition of the word "equivalent" is.

And the moron continues to demonstrate his inability to read a graph.

"That's easy enough to do... how do you think my crew uncovered the

figured out that we could DDOS a Tor IP address and modify Tor headers
while checking whether a Tor hidden service was still up, then using
process of elimination to pinpoint the IP address hosting that hidden
service. It's not rocket science.

_The I2P community got all up in arms when I discussed on their forum how
I was doing it, and that it'd be a good way of cleaning up I2P so it can
get on with being a platform to research anonymous communication... my
distinct impression was that the "anonymity

trade CP._ (NOTE: admits to participating in what he "suspected" was a

That Silk Road 2.0 was taken offline in the ensuing FBI Operation

Proving that you're a moronic backpedaling bleatfarting
blither-blathering idiotic kooktard isn't "desperate", Shiny Tinfoil
Brain, it's "me drop-kicking your retarded ass across Usenet. Again.".

Bwahahahaaa! Shiny Tinfoil Brain k'lames the peak-voltage sinusoid
after being sampled and squared has a DC offset! So now he k'lames the
120 volt RMS at every outlet in his shitted-out single-wide has DC
offset... and this after he k'lamed that RMS voltage *was* DC!

Why are you so stupid, Shiny Tinfoil Brain?

<snicker>

> Since you don't know how to graph a sin² function, i
> understand your ignorance.

Moron now k'lames:
sin^2 (x) = (sin(x))^2
Let's assume x = 170 volts
sin(170) = .34664945549
...34664945549^2 = 0.12016584499

<http://i.imgur.com/s1hr4wv.png>

Unless the moron is talking about degrees instead of radians, which
would make him even more wrong:

<http://i.imgur.com/WLx68m8.png>

Then he backpedaled and k'lamed that the "sine of a voltage is
meaningless" LOL!

This from the moron who k'lamed that "The signal that is being
averaged is sin^2."

Nice attempt at a conflationary backpedal, Moron. We're not talking
about "sine of a voltage", we're talking about your "sin^2", which I
used to prove you're a mathematical moron.

IOW, Shiny Tinfoil Brain yet again demonstrates that he's a
mathematical moron and a backpedaling bleatfarting blither-blathering
moronic kooktard. LOL

Nicely conflated, KookTard. We're not talking about "analog VOMs",
we're talking about digital multimeters. We're not talking about
something made 40 fucking years ago, we're talking about modern
multimeters. And they take discrete instantaneous samples of
peak-to-peak voltage of the peak-voltage waveform.

If the square of the peak-voltage sinusoidal waveform being sampled

Ok, I'll call your bluff. Do get right on posting the exact mechanism
and algorithm by which a modern digital multimeter may sample *only*
the voltage peak, and still arrive at RMS voltage if it's *not*
measuring or deriving the angle of the sinewave at each sample period,
KookTard. Your answer must apply to any waveform being sampled, as a
digital multimeter isn't going to know if you're sampling a square
wave or a triangle wave or a complex aperiodic sinewave.

Your refusal or inability to answer this simple question will stand as
your tacit admission that you're a lying backpedaling bleatfarting
blither-blathering moronic kooktard.

See the animations about 1/4th down the page? Yeah, those are Fourier

<http://muller.research.engineering.cornell.edu/sites/WEELS/summer06/Fourier%20Transforms-2D.pdf>
2D Fourier transform of a circularly symmetric function translates to
Bessinc shape in 2-D, translates in 1-D to a sinewave.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourier_transform>
"Still further generalization is possible to functions on groups,
which, besides the original Fourier transform on R or R" (viewed as
groups under addition), notably includes the discrete-time Fourier
transform (DTFT, group = Z), the discrete Fourier transform (DFT,
group = Z mod N) and the Fourier series or *circular* *Fourier*
*transform* (group = S^1, the unit circle ~ closed finite interval
with endpoints identified). The latter is routinely employed to handle
periodic functions."

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_function>
You know, periodic functions... like sinewaves.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sine_and_cosine_transforms>
"In mathematics, the Fourier sine and cosine transforms are forms of
the Fourier integral transform that do not use complex numbers."

Gee.. that *Fourier* *sine* *transform* sure looks familiar, doesn't
it?

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sine_and_cosine_transforms>
"Relation with complex exponentials:
The form of the Fourier transform used more often today is... Euler's

Why, that's the exact equation I used to properly graph 170 volt peak

L-L. I guess that's why they're called the Euler-Fourier Formulas.

That cross correlation is used with Fourier transforms;

That superposition is the same as wave interference;

That wave interference works the same for standing or traveling waves;

That RMS isn't a DC voltage;

That 170 volt peak, 120.208 volt RMS L-N 3-phase service gives 208.207

That the Ideal Gas Law does not require an ideal gas because it takes

"Oh, yeah... it's 2550.25 volts... so why does your graph not even
reach 2500 volts, given that eventually all the sinewaves will
constructively interfere (ie: *add* to each other) to *sum* to 2550.25
volts?"

Fakey, it doesn't reach 2500 volts because the summation of your sinewaves
never reaches that. They never reach their max values at the same time.
That's how stupid you are.

"I most certainly *did* prove otherwise. It can't even arrive at the
correct sinewave summation voltage of 2550.25 volts"

Fakey, you only *proved* that you are too inept to graph the equations and
notice a few things about the interactions of their frequencies when
summed.

the next line of code is never executed, but snickers DEFINITELY can't
figure out why it isn't and instead has a bunch of lame excuses while
still having not produced a value for t where the sum=2550.25, as he has
k0okily proklamed in many usenet messages.

The Gish Gallop is often used as an indirect argument from authority — as
it appears to paint the galloper as an expert in a broad range of subjects
or with an extensive knowledge of an individual one. Simultaneously it
presents opponents (in spoken debates) or refuters (in written,
Internet-based ones) as incompetent bumblers who didn't do their homework
before the debate. Such emphasis on style over substance is the reason
many scientists disdain public debates as a forum for disseminating
opinions. - Page #1 from the Gospel of SnickerTurd

snickers the wonderturd describes how he alerted lots of his kiddie pr0n
friends to the ensuing FBI sting in message
<b5e7da79a455d0c9227b1b50e25e7ea1@dizum.com>:
"That's easy enough to do... how do you think my crew uncovered the
largest CP ring using Tor and I2P, which we promptly turned over to
the FBI? I discovered a way to uncover the IP addresses the I2P users were
using, and a way of tracking Eepsites back to their IP addresses, then we
figured out that we could DDOS a Tor IP address and modify Tor headers
while checking whether a Tor hidden service was still up, then using
process of elimination to pinpoint the IP address hosting that hidden
service. It's not rocket science.

_The I2P community got all up in arms when I discussed on their forum how
I was doing it, and that it'd be a good way of cleaning up I2P so it can
get on with being a platform to research anonymous communication... my
distinct impression was that the "anonymity
research platform" story was just a cover story to allow pervs to
trade CP._ (NOTE: admits to participating in what he "suspected" was a
kiddie pr0n network.)

That Silk Road 2.0 was taken offline in the ensuing FBI Operation
Onymous was just icing on the cake."

I'm proud of you for coming clean, fakey. It would have
been more accurate if you said "I don't know ANYTHING", but
hey, we wouldn't want you to overdo your newfound humility
on the first day.
