Oh, come ON, Odd!!
Wouldn't you like to have a nice model like the Galaxy Model?
Wouldn't you like it when your son says, "Daddy, what's an atom like?
And you can SHOW him a picture of a galaxy?

You can't smell fantasy. You can't smell carbon monoxide. Therefore carbon

You can draw a cow as a creature with four legs.
You can draw a crocodile as a creature with four legs.
Therefore, all cows are crocodiles.

Is this what passes as logic in John-world?

MM and Odd
I say you have a fantasy-like concept of the atom.
As such, you cannot draw that concept.
Clearer? Idiot?

In science, if it agrees with experimental data to twelve digits, the
chances of it being fantasy are microscopic.

Again- Odd and Michael- you seem to have so little comprehension for the issues at hand-
How have you not yet been hit by a bus? You MUST be being protected from your stupidity, somehow. This is another proof of Divine Presents.

Well, John, frankly I'm amazed you're able to operate at all. You don't
seem to be able to read but a little, which would rule you out from a
number of occupations. You're a regretless pot-head, which will cause
further problems. You love, love, love fringe ideas, while at the same
time hoping that everything is explainable like a cutaway diesel motor
at the science museum. You say anyone that doesn't follow your beliefs
and your John-laws are out to lunch and incapable of clear thinking, and
yet you cannot for the LIFE of you come up with a coherent argument for
any of your beliefs.

So maybe it's you that's getting on by the skin of your teeth?

Haha.
Logic. Explanatory power. Self-consistency.
ALL things your 'model' doesn't have.
I'm not saying you can't MEASURE stuff, Odd, but you might want to review significant figures on that 12-digit claim.

So produce the argument. Show my your logic.
Remember, logic is not instinct or gut feel.
Logic is something you can EXPLAIN.

So EXPLAIN why you think galactic arms have always been there.
EXPLAIN why you think all things just have structure.

What's your logic, John? Do you even know what logic is?

Haha.
You claimed LONG ago that Logic doesn't apply to QM.
It's 'counterintuitive ', you said.
But AYE have to be logical, where you don't?
How is that logical?
Haha

Tell me where the cosmology/physics that YOU believe predicted an axial helix, magnetic or otherwise, in a galactic arm?

Shouldn't it concern you that my model DID? While yours DIDN'T?

Could you provide reference to your prediction?
 (data and time also?)
And reference to the report or data that you
 think supports your prediction?
Lastly, reference to where current theories of cosmology
 are contradicted by this data?

The last one is the most important. You see, multiple theories
can provide the same predictions from different premises.
Each time a theory correctly predicts a result, it gains
some strength. However, ...

The truth of the matter is, it is when theories fail
their predictions that we really learn something new.

Remember: all theories are wrong, but some are useful.

Ed
PS so far, yours does not appear to be very useful.

John, you're going to have to point to where you predicted a helical
magnetic field AROUND A GALACTIC ARM. You've posted a lot about helical
fields perpendicular to the plane of the galaxy, which has been part of
the standard galactic model for decades and decades.

Also keep in mind that scientific predictions are QUANTITATIVE, which
means not just "there" or "not there" but HOW MUCH.

Also keep in mind that you seemed to be locked on those things your
model gets RIGHT, while IGNORING the firm predictions from your model
that are quite clearly WRONG. In science, what really separates good
models from bad ones is not what they get right but whether they predict
anything WRONG.

If you had a model that explained a rare form of color blindness (even
if no other theory existed for that), but this model ALSO predicted that
those same people would be deaf, then the explanation is wrong. Period,
end of story.

Let's get back to your argument for why everything must have structure.

John, logic is not intuition. Those two words do not mean the same
thing. Look them up. Likewise, "counterintuitive" is not a synonym for
"illogical". Look them up.

Notice that as soon as I asked you for a rationale, ANY rationale, for
your naked assertions, you flinch. "Why do I have to have a rationale?"
you whine. "Why do I have to try to convince anyone about what I believe
is true? Why can't I just call them lost idiots if they don't believe it?"

Because it avoids all the idiotic things YOU believe in?
Zero volume structureless particles.
Matter collapsing to a (gasp) SINGULARITY!
Charges moving randomly but at great speed within a confined space.
Invisible Matter NOT made of what OURS is.
And SO many others!

What a mess

Show, using logic, _why_ what Odd (and I) believe are "idiotic"?

You say it's obvious, John, but you can't give any rationale for it.

This is an OLD philosophical debate, Odd.
Whether something can come from Nothing.
It actually supports the existence of God, to say that. Do you say that something can come from nothing, Odd?
