Newton was a bona fide psychotic. You can find more convincing examples.
Newton spent most of his time on things like alchemy and astrology. Physics
was just his occasional hobby. Also he was anti-social and had a repulsive
and vindictive personality. (But yes, he was one of the greatest scientists
of all time.)

Being nuts is essential to getting genius ideas in physics.
Plenty of proof right here on Usenet.

There are certainly enough nuts here.

Newton never believed in the Trinity. That is why he resisted receiving clerical ordination, something expected of someone in his position in those days.

That is because the Trinity is a mystery sort of like Gravity, don't you

For Catholics Trinity refers to "The Dad, the Lad & the Spook"

But very ironic since Newton was a professor at "Trinity College" at Cambridge.

Newton hadn't thought of the anthropic principle.

Also, he was a man of his time. His views on the subject are not that
useful now.

Sylvia.

But your rationale is psychological rather than scientific.
In other words you force a conclusion to fit your a priori
assumptions. Which is not the way of those who want the
truth.

The observed facts are that the Earth is the right distance from the sun
for life as we know it to exist on Earth.

There are various possibilities.

a) Chance.

b) Life as we know it exists on Earth because it's at the right distance.

c) Earth was set at the right distance by some entity.

None of the above can be positively excluded, and the solution does not
have to be (c).

Sylvia.

Shut down this stooopid atheist troll that is always a sure winner to
get a big disruption of any real science discussion going.

"[...] This did not happen by chance."

Were all the other planets, billions throughout the Universe, also
placed deliberately in their orbits? You must show that it couldn't
have happened by chance.

How true.
It is the source of all evil, may I add.
I got the direct taste of atheism in the unbelievably horrid prisons of Cambodia.
The atheists tortured and murdered millions of their own countrymen with no
remorse. In the name of their Marxist-atheist ideology.
Theists going wrong and basically atheists.

Sir Isaac Newton had not seen the prison cellsin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuol_Sleng_Genocide_Museum
but I have.

Theism is man's greatest invention. It has raised man from other animals by
making him more inventive and less arrogant and violent.

Cheers,

The quote at that address is listed as one of the disputed
quotes on wikiquote:

https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Isaac_Newton#Disputed

There is also an actual quote beginning with the words
"atheism is so senseless" on that page, but the evidence
Newton used to argue for this, a set of widespread
similarities among animals, is explained now by common
descent but would have been inexplicable back then to
somebody who believed the earth was only a few thousand
years old.

The rest of this statement would more likely have
originated as a summation of his observations as
noted here........ https://tinyurl.com/yadn7q8o

Sorry Isaac, but it was just all chance.

Grow up.
