Gold and silver do have an advantage over say real estate in that you 
can keep it without a yearly outlay of taxes. There is a problem that 
comes when you sell the gold in that it's capital gains which means that 
the government gets to steal your money TWICE because they take value 
through inflation, then if you have wealth like gold, they take a third 
or so of the inflated money you get by selling it. Still that is a lot 
better than last time when the government just declared an illegal major 
theft of gold and just grabbed it all for themselves. (by some bullshit 
twisting of the "trading with the enemy act")... and nobody (especially 
dummies like you) never said a peep about this major illegal act.
