John, Odd understand this but just is unable to explain it to anybody
else. Einstein could explain relativity to a barmaid, but Odd says he
can't explain the time of day to a PH.D.

Not in a couple of paragraphs. He wrote a book to try to explain it to a
barmaid. It's called Relativity, the Special and General Theories, by A.
Einstein.

This is why I am suggesting John read a book.

There are two definitions of a sphere, like I said. It depends on
whether you mean the whole ball (inside included, right to the surface)
or just the surface of the ball. Both usages of "sphere" are common but
they are clearly different.

So if you're talking about the whole ball being the sphere, then the
definition is this: a) start with a point that marks the center, b) tell
me what the distance is from the center to the surface of the ball is
(call that R), and then c) the sphere is then the set of all points that
have a distance from the center that is less than or equal to R (that
is, r<=R ).

If instead you're talking about just the surface of the whole ball being
the sphere (and this is what you'd find if you looked up "sphere" in
wikipedia), then the definition is this: a) start with a point that
marks the center, b) choose some distance R away from this center, and
then c) the sphere is the set of all points that same distance R from
the center (that is, r=R).

You can write this definition I just gave you in words much more
compactly by not using English as the language but mathematics as the
language:
{(x,y,z)∈R^3 ∣ x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = R}

In my last post, I wrote something in between the long version and this
really short version that say the same thing.

The original question was about dimensionality. You have a silly idea of
what dimensionality means. To you, dimensionality means does it have
length, height and width, and if it does then it has three dimensions.
That's not what dimensionality means. Dimensionality is given by the
MINIMUM number of coordinates you would need to specify every point in
that body. For the second definition of sphere I gave above, the surface
of a ball, the dimensionality is just two, because I can specify each
point on the sphere by two numbers: the elevation angle and the
azimuthal angle. So it doesn't MATTER that this occupies length and
height and width -- it is still a 2-dimensional object.

As another example, the surface of a sheet of paper is a 2-D thing,
because to specify every location on the sheet of paper, I need just two
numbers: the distance from the left edge of the paper I have to travel
on the paper to get to that point, and the distance from the bottom edge
of the paper I have to travel on the paper to get to that point. It
doesn't matter that I roll the piece of paper into a cylinder or that I
crumple it up in a ball. It is STILL true that every location on the
sheet of paper is specified by the same two numbers.

Whether that ball of paper now has length and height and width doesn't
change the REAL meaning of the word "dimensions".

This is why I tell you repeatedly John that what your GUT tells you
about stuff like this is going to be just flat-out wrong, and you would
do well to just READ some stuff to learn the right way to think about them.

I was measurably mad before I even knew you HVAC. Let me tell you a story...

A G-d damned story that perhaps only Sir hansonJi will remember/recall.

In sum, if you or anyone reverse dissects my paragraphs down to

else are just deaf, dumb, blind, and completely biased stupid. Who plug hear:
