You'd know that if you ever found a six-year-old to explain the concept of "invisible heavy stuff" to you. Do six-year-olds refuse to talk to you or something?

Observations matched the hypothesis, hence supporting the hypothesis. Interesting, your statement that you think DM is a consequence of the big bang theory. As far as I know, it is not and it came from different observations -- see the work of Vera Rubin.
