Odd said units have a structure? I don't think so.

Umm, no, the exact opposite. If something has no structure, you
can't split it because there is nothing (no structure) to split.
It is meaningless to describe splitting with no structure.
And if something *does* come apart, then there is some structure
that actually can come apart.

So the fact that electrons can't be split supports (but doesn't
prove) they have no structure.

That logic is so off base, I really do not know what to tell you.

For something to be structurally unsound, they have to have internal
structure in the first place, no?

Or are you thinking that things that DON'T disintegrate are the things
that DO have structure, and things that DO disintegrate are the things
that DON'T have structure?

So uranium disintegrates. Does it have structure or not?
A neutron disintegrates. Does it have structure or not?

Obvious! If electrons have no structure, they *can't* disintegrate.
There's nothing for them to disintegrate into!

How come you demand answers to your questions from Odd yet you refuse

And in your ramblings you finally said something close to right.
Electrons act like indivisible units. They have, as far as we
can tell today, NO INTERNAL STRUCTURE.

If you can find an experiment that shows an internal structure
for an electron, I would gladly like to hear about it.

Until then, your actions are just misguided.

There is some much more to physics. try to learn some of it,
rather than pontificating that you have the answers.

It depends. It can crumble into smaller pieces.

> If the STRUCTURE that is a body
> breaks down, what happens?

It can break down into smaller parts, like an atom can break into an
electron and a nucleus, and a nucleus can break down into protons and
neutrons. An electron doesn't break down into anything. Neither does a
photon. Neither does a gluon.

Why do you think I'm stupid, John? What from the above discussion gives
you the impression that a photon has structure?

> Please answer at least this last question

I've answered your question. Now try answering one of mine.

WHY do you believe that everything has structure.

No more evasions. No more questions to me before you answer me.

Odd
Which is it?
Does the observation that the electron
can't be divided mean it has no structure?
(The atom was indivisible up until recently)
Or does it mean that it HAS structure?
(As opposed to clouds, for example)

Which, Odd?

Things that have structure can be broken down into smaller parts that
are inherently different than the original thing, or break down
spontaneously. Figure it out.

When you say the atom was indivisible until "recently", how recently are
you thinking? The stripping of electrons off an atom to make an ion was
discovered in 1834. That's 18 years short of two centuries ago.
