Three comments:

- The government spans everything from first grade schoolteachers to the 
military to fire departments to DMV departments. So you're saying that 
because schoolteachers and fire departments are associated with the 
government, you can't believe anything any of them say?

- You make the mistake of thinking that you ONLY have the government's 
word to judge the validity of what the government is saying. And so 
you're in a box, because the GOVERNMENT isn't telling you whether 
they're lying or not, so you feel you have NO OTHER resource to make 
that discernment. And so in that box, you CHOOSE to distrust everything 
they say. It doesn't occur to you that there are OTHER CHANNELS to 
determine the truth of what the government is saying, and that is beyond 
what your own brain thinks makes sense?

- The government is not alone in mixing truth and lies. Private 
companies do the same, so you're saying you can't trust private 
companies at all, either. Your church does the same, so you're saying 
you can't trust your church at all, either. Banks do the same, so you're 
saying you can't trust your bank at all, either. Tiny little homeowner 
associations do the same, so you're saying you can't trust your tiny 
little homeowner association at all, either. Your FRIENDS do the same, 
and so you can't trust anything your friends say, either. So pretty 
soon, you're in the same boat as Ben, trusting NO ONE.

Anonymous Server S(y)stems (ASS) should be disallowed. ASSes only

Why do you need to know Odd's real name?  To stalk him?

There are many, err, less than stable people here.  It's perfectly
understandable that he may not want his real name known to them.

I have no idea whether "John Sefton" is really your name or something you
found in a comic book or something.  And I don't care.  It's enough
for me to know what to expect when I see a post from "Odd Bodkin"
or "john", and can choose based (in part) on that whether to read it
or not.

If you need a real sounding name, why not just call Odd "Paul Draper".
