Yes, they do. A long time ago I was assigned to do investigations, and some of the more interesting involved employee 'misdeeds'. Was a real interesting time to hear of exceuses of very strange events. Some made 'dog ate homework' sound most plausable. "Would you please explain to me why your name ----?" "Well, yes. That was me but I just made a mistake. You see, I thought I was signing up for a correspondence course at University of Wisconsin–Madison."
