CO2 + H2 --> HCOOH

No, but that method is fiction at best.

The gist was like this:
I capture CO2 from air, and this costs work and money, to make a fuel;
then the fuel is burned (what else for a fuel?), and gives CO2 back to the air.

Sincerely I think that all this is quite funny.

They do not store (chemically) CO2 in stones, say making some carbonate.
