Vacuum tubes are alive and well in high power and a few other niche applications and most incandescent bulbs do contain a vacuum troll. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_tube#Vacuum_tubes_in_the_21st_century https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulb -- Jim Pennino

I hate to tell you geezer, but turn off your Philco radio and join the modern world. So you found a vacuum tube in your son's guitar amp and to you that "Proves" that all cellphones still use them. You need to join the world AFTER Roswell.

He has no experience in Life, so he assumes nobody else does either. Note that even YEARS ago when incandescent bulbs were still the thing, a physics professor (well known and famous, by the way) I worked for had these notes for high school physics teachers. that told how to make a home-made X-ray machine using a light bulb. He had to specify a very special street lamp bulb because it was one of the few incandescent bulbs with a vacuum inside. Watch the monkey jump on his leash"! Chimp: "Oh! Oh! Oh! You babbling troll you said that ONE bulb had a vacuum inside therefore *I* (!!!!!!) am right that MOST bulbs have a vacuum! <sigh> Chimp, Archiepoo, Bert, and HVAC here! Did you EVER see so much human insanity and ignorance concentrated in one spot?
