Studying the demise of historic civilisations can tell us how much risk
we face today, says collapse expert Luke Kemp. Worryingly, the signs are
worsening. Climate change is cited as a leading risk factor.

When climatic stability changes, the results can be disastrous,
resulting in crop failure, starvation and desertification. The collapse
of the Anasazi, the Tiwanaku civilisation, the Akkadians, the Mayan, the
Roman Empire, and many others have all coincided with abrupt climatic
changes, usually droughts:

Actually, the climate has remained remarkably stable for quite some time,
if you look at the whole picture, but that doesn't suit your agenda. Why
do you continue to beat this dead horse, when you could be focusing your
efforts on something that's actually meaningful and constructive?

Climate change is causing the collapse of civilization?

If you want to know the facts: No scientific body of national or
international standing maintains a formal opinion dissenting from any of
these conclusions:

• "Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s,
many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia".

• "Atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous
oxide have increased to levels unprecedented in at least the last
800,000 years".

• Human influence on the climate system is clear. It is extremely likely
(95-100% probability) that human influence was the dominant cause of
global warming between 1951-2010.

• "Increasing magnitudes of [global] warming increase the likelihood of
severe, pervasive, and irreversible impacts"

• "A first step towards adaptation to future climate change is reducing
vulnerability and exposure to present climate variability"

• "The overall risks of climate change impacts can be reduced by
limiting the rate and magnitude of climate change"

• Without new policies to mitigate climate change, projections suggest
an increase in global mean temperature in 2100 of 3.7 to 4.8 °C,
relative to pre-industrial levels (median values; the range is 2.5 to
7.8 °C including climate uncertainty).

• The current trajectory of global greenhouse gas emissions is not
consistent with limiting global warming to below 1.5 or 2 °C, relative
to pre-industrial levels. Pledges made as part of the Cancún Agreements
are broadly consistent with cost-effective scenarios that give a
"likely" chance (66-100% probability) of limiting global warming (in
2100) to below 3 °C, relative to pre-industrial levels.

Don't change the goalposts. The issue is Kemp's claim that
climate change is a leading risk factor in the collapse of
civilization itself. No reputable scientific body agrees
with that bullshit. To the contrary, the so-called solutions
proposed by GW extremists, if fully implemented, would send
civilization back to the stone age.

Notice how Just Wondering snips the facts and says his topic is something
other than the facts.

Sure. His topic is denial of the facts so he can try to justify his lack of
ideas for solutions.

And he lies about the solutions others offer as a part of his game. Not
biting. He wants the topic to be his lies. I want the topic to be facts.

Negative impacts of global warming on agriculture, health & environment
far outweigh any positives:

Yeah, sure. Fortunately we've invented mass-scale desalinization, if only you "Progressives" would shut the fuck up about nuclear energy to power it.

You "Progressives" are doing a fine job of trashing civilization as it is.

There's this song, perhaps youAllTheyTheUs&Them, have heard it even
beyond the borders of the state of Kansas by the rock band by the name
of Kansas, it sounds like: How Long To The Point Of No Return.

If you haven't then search it out. After decades of me listening and rocking
to it, the song actually is: How Long To The Point Of Know Return!

Turns out, I was one among many that were singing the song wrong for decades.

Now that No2Know Return is etched upon me my mind, the song simply
does not make any sense to me anymore. Perhaps me my English is spin.

Good idea, only one first must ask certain scientific questions. WE all
know that hair and nails keep growing after you die but do farts
persist? If they do then there could be a big problem as it is widel
accepted (97%) that Cow and human farts are the major cause of global
warming. Death my not save us all. We may already be beyond the point of
know return. Know may never return!
