What about the total environmental impact of replacing every
single commercial air flight with high speed rail trains? How
is it even possible to criss-cross the whole country with new
railroad tracks? Where are you going to come up with the
trillions of dollars to build the railroads? Where are you
going to get the new courts to litigate twenty million eminent
domain land condemnation lawsuits? How are you going to construct
rail lines linking North America with Europe, Hawaii, Asia,
Africa, Australia, etc? What are you going to do when you find
all this new rail construction threatens the habitats of a
hundred threatened species? Is there anything about the existing
high-speed railroads that even remotely suggests replacing air
flight with trains is a good idea? And what are you going to
use to power those high-speed trains? Do you think you can use
wind power generated by those trains going really fast?

AOC is an idiot for proposing this. Anyone who thinks it's a
good idea is also an idiot.

Does not seem possible, but if we ended all air flight it would likely
lower damage. Of course, we should have a risk / benefit analysis. There
are CLEARLY some big risks with ending air flight!

You are the one asking about these things. The word "air" appears in her
New Deal Resolution on five pages, and none push what you are
suggesting. The word "rail" shows up once, and it also does not suggest
what you do.

But if you think your ideas -- presented above -- are better than the
ones she presented in the New Deal Resolution then encourage your
representatives to push them.

land for right of way ? just fly over it

California High speed rail project is being cancelled.

There is no evidence for the future as the future isn't here yet.

Everything about the future is speculation and it is irrelevant that some
speculation is "better" than some other speculation as it is all still
speculation.

Here's some speculation from James Hansen from 13 years ago that we would
be in a catastrophe by 3 years ago.

Hansen is supposed to be among the best of the speculators yet he was
wrong.

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/14834318/ns/us_news-environment/t/warming-expert-only-decade-left-act-time/#.XEeySlxKiPo

Why does it bother you that I am not going into a hysterical panic over
every speculative "tipping point"?

So no evidence the sun will rise tomorrow, nor the time that it will for
you.

I disagree. I bet if you look up what time the sun will rise in your
area, and then find the time when it happens, it will be VERY close.

Do this and we can test you idea and mine. I say it IS possible to have
some ideas about the future and have some level of confidence in them,
and to do this based on scientific measurements and calculations.

As noted: you and Republicans have nothing to bring to the table in
terms of planning for the future. AOC does. Until you do her ideas are
the best on the table.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
