Which almighty? Allah? The FSM? And why would they care if you invoke their
name with your well wishes?

You really need to read the Bible.

Ever heard of the Lord's Prayer... I know it by heart.

Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us.
And, lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the Kingdom and the Power
and the Glory for ever and ever, Amen.

That's a petition, dude.

Notice to whom you are praying in that prayer.

Hint: It ain't Jebus -- though indeed, it is how he taught his disciples
to pray.

How do you like them peaches?

For some reason, Catholics aren't supposed to say the "For thine is..."

Please to be citing a peer-reviewed study published in a reputable

Bonus points if it compares all three of: best wishes, prayer, and a
placebo. More if prayers in multiple religions are compared with each
other, with best wishes, and with a placebo.
