Hey, Sergio, there are more than enough needy "immigrants" ready to take
care of that money.

It is pretty telling to me that the Drivers in France had a fit when the
gas tax was just raised a few percent. What do you suppose would happen
if "Kensi" and the socialists get their way and totally turn off the
fuel spigot and tell all the drivers to just starve? What could possibly
go wrong?

Recall that President Obama was downright excited about raising the
electric bill for every American. He succeeded. But when the French
people see that there are cheaper alternatives to staying warm, they ask
why their government wants to impoverish them.

Germany, which still uses coal to generate 40% of its electrical power,
is another example of where saving the world from climate change is just
too darn expensive:

Environment Minister Svenja Schulze's call for a carbon tax earlier
this year was quickly shot down by Chancellor Angela Merkel's
conservative bloc in the German parliament over concerns it would boost
living costs.

But Schulze, of the Social Democratic Party, argued that climate
policies don't have to lead to political "hara kiri" if they are well
designed. "We cannot put the greatest burden on those who've already
got little," Schulze said on Monday in Katowice.

That's the real story of the revolt against the fuel tax. The burden of
saving the Earth will fall most heavily on those least able to pay for
it. European elites, congratulating themselves on their "courage" in
foisting these burdensome carbon taxes on their people, just don't get it.

Even when they won the tax change they were not happy. They are not
happy with the economy rigged for the wealthy.

It is too expensive to NOT switch over as fast as we reasonably can.

Why not have the real cost of fuel be put into the cost people pay? Why
subsidize it for benefit of the rich?

Agreed. Have the 40 or so corporations who benefit from the harm pay for
it. Let capitalism handle it from there. If you stop subsidizing the bad
then the good can bubble up to the top.

I can see some truth to this. Sure.

Trump should go to France and tell Macron how to be tough on Russians by

Dresden isn't in France. Putin himself wouldn't go to France. It rains
too much, and, like all truly great, and fantastic leaders, he doesn't
do rain. Or snails.

I had a pizza in southern france, small, big crust, under-cooked with
mushrooms, snales and a raw duck egg in the middle...

Putin was near waco Texas with Bush on the ranch, eating BBQ. Putin was
meddling with the Waitress, trying to influence her.

You have it exactly backward. Right now we have 100 or fewer massive
corporations being the source of more than 70% of the greenhouse
emissions... and yet we are ALL expected to pay for the increased
storms, the problems with crops, the rising ocean levels, etc.

And it is NOT liberals pushing for this... it is conservatives. They are
not even willing to push for it directly -- they lie and deny the
science to push this MASSIVE entitlements for these corporations.

Nope. Even if I never used those again, or ANY product, the problem
would not be changed in any appreciable way.

But if we stopped subsidizing the use of such products that WOULD solve
the problem (though there are many devils in the details of how we could
do so).

But that goes against the worship of the wealthy... so it is a hard sale
among American conservatives.

The burden of saving the Earth? Such astounding arrogance!
Any human who feels capable of *saving the Earth* has made
a couple of false assumptions:

1) that the Earth needs saving,

2) that he can save the Earth.

No, the problem is your brain engages in stupid
and arrogant false assumptions.
