First of all, Lyndon Johnson didn't live a hundred years ago.

You might be right: I'll have to start watching Rachel Maddow and
Anderson Cooper so they can tell me what to think.

Actually he did. He was 10 years old a hundred years ago (born 1908).

Yes his fame was more like 55 years ago, of course.

I'm barely authoritarian. I believe that there should be laws against
certain things (gay marriage and abortion) and that the mainstream
media should be fined for inappropriate language and content
(especially since their airwaves are available free of charge to
everyone) but otherwise, I don't give much of a hoot.

My province would benefit from such laws, to be honest. There's a
clear downward trend in terms of morality.

You want to control what people do in their private lives and with their
bodies, and you want to limit free speech. That makes you more than just
a "little" authoritarian.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
