#700594 — Einstein on the speed of light

SubjectEinstein on the speed of light
Message-ID<3bef56c3-325a-4abb-93f8-8c158a3eb300@googlegroups.com>
I have heard according to Einstein you could not build a spaceship capable of traveling faster than the speed of light. But did Einstein say anything about building a spaceship capable of traveling at the same speed as light?

According Einstein

a) Spaceship travels at speed < speed of light is possible
b) Spaceship travels at speed > speed of light is impossible

But does Einstein say anything about
c) Spaceship travels at speed = speed of light

Is c) possible or impossible?

If your signature is real, I would love to see some of your work. Is it online?

For Odd, the ability to continue his anonymous pseudo-scientific blather
online is FAR more important than having customers. His business is
secret! Take you money and shove it up your butt.

I have plenty of business. I now have an apprentice on salary. My word of
mouth traffic is spectacular. And I can dictate my own hours and am my own
boss.

I know a master electrician that runs his business the same way.

Impossible and this is what Einstein actually said:

Hi Jim,

But unless I missed something there is no specific reference to equality of matter and light moving at the same speed...

What you seemed to have missed is a grade school education in general and
algebra specifically.

Great. I'm pretty sure there will be a "math appreciation" course

I would suggest taking a real algebra course until you realize the answers
to your questions are self evident.

MBA's don't do math. Financial Advisers don't do math.

nope, just look at the equations.

remember as you approch the speed of light, your mass becomes infinite,
and it takes you an infinate amount of energy to go that fast.

assume you got a 10 ton space craft and want to go 50% c.

how much energy does it take to go that fast ?

Matter can move behind light in the same direction but could never catch up...
Light has the fastest leading motion in the universe.
