From what we perceive with our senses the brain constructs a pseudo-reality, we think is real. So we cannot see the world as it is directly, but only through the means we have (eyes, ears and so forth,) which provide the input to the brain. Our brain constructs our personal reality based on memories and experiences, we had before. Among the things we think are real is the stuff we see on tv or in the movies. We know with certainty, this stuff is artificial to entertain us and to make us support those, who currently have enough power to control the media. But the brain sees things and regard them as real and base further decisions on what is (allegedly) known. So we need to know, that media-content is NOT real. It's a fabricated pseudo-reality, which is controlled by economic and political powers. Other media content is also fabricated, but the influences stem from different sources. E.g. we could try to learn Russian and watch only TV-Moskow (or so). Or we could read mess like this UseNet-group or web-based forums. Or we could watch on or two videos on YouTube (or similar). This would still influence us, but not into any particular direction, since the various forces cancel each other out TH

I don't think I've ever seen anyone work so hard to play an
avoidance game.
I shall try to dumb down my question some more.
Do you happen to know exactly when you started displaying traits
consistent with being mentally ill?

You wanted to know something about reality and I told you what I think reality is. In short: 'reality' is not really real, but is constructed by the brain as representation of the real world. The real world is not visible to us, but only a small fraction. What fraction we see and regard as important, that is different from person to person, hence is kind of subjective. You had asked, why and how I lost contact to reality, but failed to mention, what kind of reality you mean. This representation in the head you always carry around with you. So the question was in fact, whether or not my personal representation of the world in my personal brain is a good and valid representation of this world (or not). I would say, well, it's quite ok, so don't worry, but thanks for asking. What you should worry about instead, that is your own brain. So you should start to reconsider your own activities and whether (or not) they are particularly help for you. So may I ask you, how do you justify the enormous amount of time an effort you apparently spent to read and occasionally answer all these posts in this newsgroup. TH

Your consistently resorting to lying has never helped you in the

believe it would work this time?

I've got some very bad news for you.
Reality exists even if your brain doesn't get any input from it.
You are still a part of reality, even though I've never seen you. My
career still exists even though I'm not at work as I type this.
I can give many more examples proving your claim wrong, but I'm
confident I've made my point.

I appear to be in fine mental health.
Your attempt to transfer your mental issues onto me is a cute

such.

I spend less than 30 minutes at a time on Usenet. It doesn't take
more than a few seconds to read a post, formulate a reply, write it
and post.

I'm only really active in two groups at the time I write this. As
you may have noticed, I am far more active in the baldspot group. I
spend, maybe, 30 minutes a day total in it. Less then 30 here.
I can only conclude Thomas reads slowly. Since English is a second
language, and not likely to be one he uses more than German, it may
take him longer to read and reply. It would be understandable.
But to presume everyone is so limited is foolish.

These days I probably spend on average of 15 to 30 minutes a day on Usenet. That's not to say I can't spend all night online, but 98% of my presence on the net is not in newsgroups but in forum based discussion groups.

The sum of all messages per day is possibly 600 (in all of these groups combined). So I read about 5% from all the traffic, but mainly from the threads I take part. And I write maybe five messages per day on average (sometimes a few more). So it is unlikely, that I read a certain article someone wrote, if that is not in a thread I follow. The amount of time varies and depends on how difficult the subject is and whether or not I have an idea about it. But usually I spent something like half an hour to one hour on reading and writing. I could read more, but don't want, since reading too much crap does not make you smarter. TH
