Obviously only the very well off that want the latest toy.

A better question would be who is going to insure the self driving car
and who is going to be liable when one fails and causes a death?

Idiots. People who do not understand technology and are hence
mystified into a sense of trust.

I will never be driven by a self-driving car. When I operate an
automobile I practice defensive driving, which means that I examine
road conditions very far ahead and often take steps to deal with
potential conditions well before they can happen (even if they
don't happen at all). Needless to say, the short-range sensors
and limited artificial intelligence of a self-driving car could NEVER do
the same.

I also imagine that the brakes of a self-driving auto would need
to be replaced frequently due to the necessary hard baking that
would be constantly occurring as a result of the short-range sensors.
On a freeway, for example, I can see a chain-reaction slowing or stopping
sequence begin to occur far ahead and thus I can brake gently well before
the reaction reaches the car immediately in front of me. A self-driving
could not do this and would brake HARD only when the car in front began
to slow or stop. This is poor performance that is inherent to the
self-driving technology.

There are many examples of human anticipation and reaction that could
be given that a self-driving vehicle could never duplicate.
