How long does it take a BH with the density of a Billion stars to evaporate? What are the features does this evaporating take? How does space hold this BH material? Is it point building stuff to make a neutrino or less? When the BH becomes less than less does it have an end? To just say BHs evaporate tell me nothing. I like ideas that do.Bert

Thank you for that great BH site.Still its best be remembered that once inside a BH its all one way.On the area outside the event horizon stuff with enough energy can kick away for another day. That is not the same as evaporating.Bert

The only problem with that is that the total gravitational potential energy of the universe is _increasing_ as the energy from whatever is causing galaxy clusters to move apart becomes gravitational potential energy. Michael replied: > > Gravity is a residual exergy, and it's slowly dying. > > if gravity were becoming weaker, we'd detect it We do; it's called: lambda, entropy, dark energy, evaporation, the cosmological constant, the accelerated expansion of outerspace. Everything evaporates, the sun is losing 4.3 million tons/second. Earth is losing the moon. The sun is (relatively) hot and dense. Entropy KILLS everything, including gravity.

I read a science fiction book where in the distant future mankind figured out how to instantaneously transport matter through a series of wormholes not only in distance but in time. After having determined that like Relf says, the universe is winding down due to entropy the future humans commenced to transport stars from the future through the time/space portals so as to increase the mass of the universe in the present just enough to stop the expansion thus insuring their immortal selves an immortal universe. Humans are the force that may determine the fate of the universe. -- Everybody here likes Yours Truly, Gregøry Hall - Bombastic Loudmouth of the South
