Excellent, but I wouldn't advertise the fact.
I don't have any guns. No siree, not me. Despite my CCL permit
and numerous FFL background checks I never did buy any guns.
And besides, all those guns I never owned were given away, sold,
lost or stolen years ago. And I don't know who now has those
guns I never had.

ALL gun control policies are based on evidence. The evidence of history
teaches that if you seek absolute power to rule, it is necessary to
disarm and get advantage over those you wish to rule. That is a given.
(And of course then once you have power you can kill them to prevent any
resistance)

Pardon me. Snit means evidence concerning gun control as it
would affect health and safety. I should have clarified that
evidence is lacking that most of the gun control laws in place
make the country safer.

Pretty much everyone with a lifestyle better than that of a caveman

But we do not all benefit the same, and we do not pay the costs based on
our choices / benefits.

Why should I be forced to pay the costs of the petroleum industry?

you are also paying Federal Tax Dollars that are used in San Francisco
to support illegal drug habits on the streets, without offering
recovery. No concern about that?

You need a cite for the idea that the people in the petroleum industry,
esp. the CEO and other upper management, get a lot of money?

Really?

You need a cite for the idea that we all are paying for the harm done?

Really?

If you mean providing health care to those in need I have no issue with
doing so, BUT we are doing so inefficiently. We cannot afford to NOT
have universal health care -- it is costing us BILLIONS of dollars a year.

Sure we can. Universal health care means government
control over health care. We definitely don't need
that. If you want UHC, move to a country that already
has it.

Why would we want to continue to spend more money for lower outcomes?
The ONLY reason I can think of is to benefit health insurance company
executives and some other very wealthy people.

Open to hearing your ideas on what other benefits wasting money has.

And, as is my norm, of course I can back my views with research. One of
the most comprehensive studies on the topic has recently been released:

<https://www.peri.umass.edu/publication/item/1127-economic-analysis-of-medicare-for-all>
-----
Medicare for All could reduce total health care spending in the U.S. by
nearly 10 percent, to $2.93 trillion, while creating stable access to
good care for all U.S. residents.
