The grim milestone of the Camp Fire is the result of increasing
development in fire-prone areas and climate change that makes wildfires
more intense, experts say:

Wildfires are deadlier because there are more people living in those
areas.

No, it's you fucking liberals who pass stupid legislation that it's
illegal to trim deadwood and brush out of the forests. You idiots
turn them into giant tinderboxes and then you try to blame it
on global warming caused by CO2. Such a transparent lie.

No, it's climate change:

What Trump gets wrong about wildfires, by a fire scientist

California wildfires: Why Trump's claim 'forest management' is to blame

If more poor people lived in forests they could collect the dead stuff
and use it for heat and cooking and making brooms and chairs and then a
new economy would develop with fiercely independent people living on
their own and trading with other fiercely independent people and then
traveling preachers could bring the word and gather these independent
people in fellowship and build casinos and golf resorts and then a new
country could be born without dangerous forest fires or socialist
tendencies.

A good old fashioned barn raising would be cool. Sometimes I think the
Amish have a good idea.

I don't give a shit about the religion part, but the back-to-basics
lifestyle might be nice. I think I would have liked being around in the
early 1900's, except for the Depression and a couple of world wars. I
love collecting stuff from that time period, during the Industrial
Revolution. Lately I've been collecting hay trolleys, which are pretty
cool devices.

Let's see......early 1900s.

No penicillin.

Limited indoor plumbing, Just starting to become a feature of new
construction in urban areas.

No A/C

Lead paint and similar environmental hazards

Mercury based 'cures'

Ether and it's negative side effects only real anesthetic.

Limited electrical access

Poor roads

Unreliable cars

Poor wages

Few worker protection laws

Unappetizing food, and much of it suspect by today's standards (unless you
were wealthy)

No TV

Limited Radio

Few books

Personally, I think you might find it interesting to envision, but I suspect
you would utterly hate living during that time period.
