Huh? The patent at patentimages.storage clearly says "refrigeration", no
"d".

Besides which:
(a) why would Electrolux have any interest in "atomic bomb reactors"
in 1927,
(b) the process described is one useful for cooling soda, not reactors
(c) WTF is an "atomic bomb reactor" anyway
(d) Why am I replying to a post on a Starmaker thread to begin with
(e) Why are _you_ replying to a post on a Starmaker thread to begin

You can make two kinds of A bombs. One uses U235, separating it out
from the far more common U238.

The other kind uses a nuclear reactor to turn U238 into plutoniium.
The various reactors at Hanford could be considered "atomic bomb
reactors."

Never heard anyone in the physics or engineering community refer to
one as such. And in any case that particular reactor was not a
boiling water reactor of the kind that starnumbnuts linked nor did it
use anything resembling the refrigeration system it was bleating
about.

You can also make an A bomb out of U233 (India did so). It's not a
very *good* A bomb, but it will explode in a chain reaction.

I thought that India was using Pu from CANDU reactors. Or do they do
some of each? I wasn't aware of U233 bombs.

The U233 was their very early efforts, in 1998, and I believe was
motivated by their extensive deposits of thorium (which can fairly
easily be turned into U233). The results were dissapointing enough
that they didn't bother beyond that.

news to anyone, including you.

Therein lies the real question. Doug appears to be relatively new in
rasw, so perhaps he isn't familiar with what the hell is wrong with
Starmaker. On the other hand, it's also plausible that he should be
spelling his name Duh-g. Time will tell.

Free hint for the newbie: The Starmaker is an idiot, who gives
considerable evidence of mental illness. It is incapable of saying
anything that is coherent, and often has difficulty forming complete
sentences.

Arguing with it is a good way to look stupid.

What he said.

Plus, many of us have Starfaker firmly ensconced in our killfiles, and
thus never see its posts. However, we do see when people reply to it and
include r.a.s.w. Please refrain from so doing.

I'll affirm what both of them said. Seriously, the Star thing is best
