And can transmit malaria, West Nile, and other nasty infections. Best to
swat them on sight, and I say this as someone who normally catches stray
bugs and releases them in preference to killing them.

I do that, too. I hate to see them buzzing at the
windows trying to get out so I use a clear plastic
cup and a thin piece cardboard to capture and release
them. I just clap the cup over them, slide the thin
cardboard under the rim and step outside and remove
the cardboard and they fly away all happy. I even
remove spiders that way, too. I figure spiders catch
and eat mosquitoes so they are better left alive.

But, mosquitoes all have to die. They serve no purpose
and are, indeed, spreading some pretty dire diseases.

Fleas, I don't suffer to live. If I catch one, I drown
it in a cup of water. They can't swim and go right to
the bottom and kick a while then they die. I hate
fleas. They also spread some pretty serious diseases
such as the bubonic plague and the Black Death.

if you shave off your body hair you won't catch fleas and try bathing

Only saw one lone tick last summer. It was crawling
up my leg and I felt the tickle so I wasn't bitten.

I think my turkey rafters eat them all. They are
always scraping and pecking at the ground eating
bugs of all sorts. I guess that's where they get
their protein.
