Pride is ugly, like a wart; the bigger the uglier.

A robot might select an apple over an orange,
but that doesn't mean it has "free will" ("the uncaused cause").

We're consumption machines, exploiting a niche,
(poorly) programmed by nature to take a LessBad "option".

We call ourselves "consumers" and the GDP measures our progress.

All of history, every lesson ever, every advance, tells me:

  Randomness is ignorance, nothing more.

Once the cards are all dealt, and the dice stop rolling,
and the bets are paid out, the "probability wave" has collapsed.

The biggest "loophole" in Bell's Theorem is:

It's an ensemble of tests, a series, not just one test...
like a pollster, asking 5 _ liars if they'll vote for Hillary or not.

You can't prove anything, not ThermoDynamics ( Entropy and eXergy ),
nor General Relativity; in fact, they _ contradict each other.

The best you can do is:

  - Find it useful ( in its domain ).
  - Try to Falsify it ( in its domain ).

> 11) Do you even know how many are actually fleeing from catastrophic
> conditions and not just their own poverty?

The earth has warmed and cooled too great extremes
over the past _ billions of years; long term, it's cooling.
The current warming is exacerbating our reckless living/breeding.

You need a license to drive a motorcycle,
yet _ anyone can "conceive" nascent junkies;
and vasectomies are taboo, even in the porn industry.

The wealth and intelligence of a nation is reflected
in its birth rate -- from Singapore (.83/woman) and Macau,
at the top, to Niger (6.49/woman) and Angola at the bottom.

"equal rights" == "equal outcomes" == "submission to an insane despot".

What the heck is that? I can't decide whether it's garden variety white
supremacism or something more exotic in the way of kookery.

I think this might be wrong, but I'm not sure ... kensi?

GR and thermodynamics? I could've sworn it was GR and quantum

I'm pretty sure this is wrong, too, even leaving aside human-caused
climate change, but ... kensi?

Chile is coldish, and SparselyPopulated.

We ( you and I ) can't think of a warm, crowded place
where TrueSocialism has worked for any length of time.

China is capitalist with dictatorial aspects.

"garden variety white supremacism" ?!
Pride is ugly, like a wart; the bigger the uglier.

An "Unknown cause" isn't the same thing is "no cause".
All of history, every lesson ever, every advance, tells me:

  Randomness is ignorance, nothing more.

Quantum Mechanics is just a series of odds;
like the odds of a coin toss, or a dice roll,
or the odds of your horse winning -- anything could happen, and does.

Nobody is interested in "X.EXE" proper.
I talk about it because it's on my mind, that's all.

No, this is a falsifiable, useful axiom:

The wealth and intelligence of a nation is reflected in its birth
rate -- from Singapore (.83/woman) and Macau,
at the top, to Niger (6.49/woman) and Angola at the bottom.

Chile is coldish, next to the Antarctic, and sparsely populated, like Norway.
Further, their "socialism" was a flash in the pan.

How can you purport to solve the world's problems when you don't even know
where Chile and Hong Kong are on the map, much less what they are like ?

that is why Hillary should have been elected, she already knows it all,
and she will tell you what to do.

It's wrong. There's no "collapsing probability wave", unless you believe
in a non-linear, non-unitary, non-differentiable, non-local,
non-CPT-symmetric, acausal, faster-than-light phenomenon that says that
parts of the wavefunction mysteriously and spontaneously disappear when
decoherence prevents us from seeing them any more.

Surprisingly enough, Relf is ...

wrong again! It is GR and QM. There is no conflict between GR and
thermodynamics. And there is no "loophole" in Bell's Theorem. It
disproves local realism, full-stop. That means *either* many-worlds *or*
some mechanism that would be the *only* thing in all of physics that was
  non-linear, non-unitary, non-differentiable, non-local,
non-CPT-symmetric, acausal, and faster-than-light ...

In other words, it means many-worlds.

> climate change, but ... kensi?

There has been a cooling trend for the past roughly forty million years,
since the Eocene Climate Optimum. The cause is the supercontinent cycle;
we're at the point where collisions are starting to ram up big mountain
ranges (Rockies, Himalayas) and the chemical weathering of these
upthrust rocks draws down CO2. The previous supercontinent cycle did
this too: as Pangaea was being assembled there were
tens-of-millions-of-years-long cold snaps during the Ordovician and the
latter half of the Carboniferous. We can expect some more warm and cool
periods over the next couple of hundred million years but once there's
another supercontinent it will be hot and dry weather for the duration.
When it breaks up it will be hot and rainy most places, a tropical world
like the Mesozoic, until continents quit mostly splitting and start
colliding again. And then we'll be back at the late Eocene situation
again ...

But, superimposed on all of this is a secular warming trend that will go
on for the entire lifespan of the solar system, because the sun itself
is slowly getting brighter. Absent sufficiently advanced technological
intervention it will reach the point of rendering the Earth
uninhabitably hot, perhaps most of a billion years and a couple of
supercontinents in the future.

So Relf is 180 degrees out from reality ... *again*.

4.5 billion years ago, the surface of earth was molten.

33 million years ago, the poles were tropical, not icy.
33 million years is hardly anything, in the history of life.

This course there is; all we have are some odds,
like the odds of winning a presidential election.

If you think it's 100% reliable, and infallible, and that no one is lying,
then you're more deluded than a 5 year old child, lost in the Amazon.

When you're ignorant, anything can happen.
Your pride _ demands ignorance.

Ignorance does not prove the existence of EuRandomness;
all of history, every lesson ever, every advance, tells me:
randomness is ignorance, nothing more.

Yes, my point exactly.

You wouldn't know a point if kensi dropped a semi-trailer truckload of
them right on your head. The proof of that statement being that she just
*did*, and you *didn't*.
