Might just be semantics but cancer cells might just damage the cells
normal ability to limit its replications by damaging or turning off
the normal shortening of telomeres at each replication. This
shortening seems to be due to the replicase (enzyme which initiates
replication) consuming part of its attachment point at the end of the
DNA (telomeres).

There are several ways which allows cancer cells to grow out of control.
Replenishing telomeres where this shouldn't happen, turning off programmed
cell death when damage is detected, disabling immune system's ability to
detect the bad cells, etc.

Giraffes have a very high heart rate. So do parrots. Parrots often live
