I know why a bar magnet gets its N and S poles.I do not know why Earth gets its magnetic pole? I do not know why the photons(QED) that create this magnetic field goes from south to north? Does Jupiters great magnetic field go from  south to its north pole? Why does it curve so far out in space? Why does the sun with 99.4 of the mass of the solar system not have a magnetic field bigger than Jupiter? Curie knew the answer.  TreBert

   None of those solar system magnetic field have anything to do
   with solid bar magnets, reber, Sun, Earth and Jupiter magnetic
   fields are generated by current (moving charges). Whether plasma,
   Metallic Hydrogen or Liquid Iron, it currents all the way down.
   Oh Ya.

Sam Tasy to say "current" all the way down,but that gives no answer to my questions. But lets go with current.What is it using for a conductor so it can come out of the core? Sam i see a "current as a flow of electrons" Do You? I see Voltage,Resistance and current being related bt Ohms law.Do you? Sam best to keep in mind current gets weaker over distanced.(more resistance.A wire that is thicker it decreases resistance. I have posted many times that wire obeys the inverse square law.TreBert

Herb, Curie believed in Ghosts and still won the Nobel. Maybe you should 
start believing in ghosts. Ask HVAC, he can instruct you. He's a ghost 
expert.

Herb you senile old fool, Ohms law isn't "true". It's not even a law. 
It's just a rule that works sometimes. I thought you knew how everything 
works, but clearly you were lying!

And even when Ohms law sort of works the resistance of the wire is given 
by the resistivity of the metal time the length of the wire divided by 
the cross-sectional area of the wire. So where is your "inverse square"? 
Nowhere.

Give up on wires and have HVAC teach you about ghosts.

Sam To say a bar magnetic does not fit in here is astonishing.Think magnetic field of a bar magnet,and think of magnetic field of the earth's pole. Most important of all "THINK"   TreBert
