Receivers have been small enough to embed in smartphones and thousands
of other things for a long time now.

This is nothing more than ground based enhanced GPS which has been
around for a very long time now for niche applications but no one
has been willing to pay for wide spread deployment as there has no
general need to date for centimeter accuracy or GPS inside buildings.

   I think the jimp misses the thrust of the article.  Initially
   Lacota will compliment GPS, but long term it may replace GPS
   completely.

I think the ass hat is a total idiot that doesn't understand radio
propagation.

Line of sight for a 200 foot tall tower is a circle of about 23 miles.

How does one put up towers in every remote location, across the Atlantic
and Pacific Oceans every 23 miles to "replace GPS completely"?
