A1c over 13. Then after I was no longer homeless, I stopped guzzling sugared soda all day long, followed by bags of candy, and bottles of sweet wine to try not to freeze out in the cold at night. I began trying to eat a healthful diet, and get exercise. Finally my young doc that my A1c of less than 5 was probably better than his own, and took me off the meds. Double-A
