group...That is, of course, as long as he performs the penance I

was about four or five when she died. My parents were honest and
didn't tell the comforting lie that the churches turn into fear as the
child gets older.

And  they were right. The sadness at losing her, got replaced over
time with happier memories of the things she did with us before her
heart attack.

That is the basis of all afterlife illusions - fear.  Plus a sense of
"You'll get yours while I am rewarded".
