okay, let's be real here...

There is only one solar system in the entire universe, isn't that correct?

Our solar system is the only solar system that exist in the universe, isn't that correct?

so·lar sys·tem

the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets.

Our sun, and it's planets around it is the only solar system that exist in our galaxy and all the galaxies in the universe, isn't that correct?

As of now,but in the next 285,000,000 years most of the universe will be seen, and solar systems will be known by the billions. Bert

Solar is a direct reference to the Sun and only the Sun.

Solar system is therefore the Sun system, hence the sun and everything
in orbits aroung the Sun.

That depends on the definition. If “solar system” is supposed to mean the
same as “planetary system”, then the correct answer is most definitely “no”.

See above.

What are you citing there?

A correct name is “Solar System”, with two *capital* S’s.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_System>
<https://iau.org/public/themes/naming/>

Not necessarily. For example, *solar* panels and *solar* sails will also
work in another planetary/star system.

That is only one possible way to define the term.

Because of this ambiguity, I prefer the Latin designation for the main star
of this planet, Sol, and call the planetary system “the Sol system”.
Likewise for the planet, Terra (Earth), and its companion, Luna (the Moon).

You will find at least the first designation being supported, and used, in
astronomy software like Celestia: when the star is selected, it displays
“Sol / Sun”, and it supports searching for the star by both names.

Since you have also amok-crossposted to rec.arts.sf.written:

The Latin designation is also common in science-fiction: for example, in
/Star Trek/, the “Sol System” is located in the galactic sector 0-0-1
(probably because the United Federation of Planets has its headquarters there).

“Terra” is often used by extra-terrestrial characters; for example, the
Vulcans in /Star Trek/ refer to the planet as “Terra” and humans as
“Terrans” (at least among themselves, e.g. in “Star Trek Ⅴ: The Final
Frontier” and Diane Duane’s “Spock’s World”; more recently, “Star Trek:
Enterprise” has established this use by other extra-terrestrials as well).
And indeed, it does not make sense that they would refer to a *foreign* star
as ”the Sun”, a *foreign* planet as “Earth”, and its *foreign* moon/twin
planet as “*the* Moon”.

Correct .... unless, of course, some aliens might have also named their
Star "Sol"

A certainty, given the universe is infinite.

I would suggest "An almost certainty ...."! ;-P

There is only one solar system in the entire universe...of course it's a secret. You're not suppose to know that or think that.

Has anyone in the 'scientific community' every stated or written a book with a title like:

Life Does Not Exist on Other Planets

or

Life Does Not Exist Elsewhere in the Universe

or

Life Does Not Exist on Mars

They would stone him to death...
