Einstein had a very strong German accent for all of his life (in the
USA). The quoted text is written in flawless English, what Einstein
could not do.
So I would agree, that this text is most likely not written by him.
There are always questions about authorship of a certain text, since
'the elite' provides also books, which the member elitists could claim
authorship for.
This is similar to other realms in arts and science, where usually the
'big animal' demands all the fame and leaves the annoying work to others.
So painters should paint and singers should sing - without possible
assistance from behind the curtains.
Some did and failed ('Milli Vanilli' for instance).
Therefore such public exams are no longer in use and we have to buy
things as presented.

So I know very the difficulties for Germans t5o write in English (or for English to write in German). The English language is full of very specific rules and exceptions and there are way more English words than German. German on the other hand is difficult for speakers of English, because they have e.g. three genders and certain letters, that are hard to pronounce correctly (like 'ü'). So I would guess, that I could hear the origin of a speaker. But I could also see the differences in the written language, since certain mistakes are typical for Germans and for English. For instance countries are female in English (Germany is 'she') and the people living there are male singular (the German). The German language uses different concepts and countries have mainly the neutral gender and people are addressed in plural. So speakers of either language make certain errors, because they are used to the concepts, their own language is based on. And they keep them long after they speak the new foreign language perfectly. From such errors I can estimate the origin of the speaker, even if there is no accent. But Einstein spoke with a very strong German accent (like e.g. Wernher von Braun), hence he did not learn the new language English too well. Since the quoted text about socialism is flawless, I assume that Einstein could not have written it (himself). But possibly the text was edited or corrected on the foundation of a text of Einstein himself. Possibly he wrote in German and that was translated by a professional translator. TH

Possibly he wrote in German and that was > translated by a professional translator. I think that Einstein's command of English was considerably better than yours. I'm pretty sure that he understood that one would only refer to _writing_ with an accent if one was attempting to be facetious. If you mean that people with certain backgrounds make characteristic grammatical errors, that may be true, but it is not an "accent", and when one is writing for publication and (a) has time to review one's work, (b) hand it to someone in the English department at a major university to vet, and (c) also has it reviewed by the publication's professional editor, such errors can be easily eliminated. Now, whether Einstein's views on politics should be given much weight is a different question--he was an expert on physics, not government. Expertise in one field does not automatically convey expertise in another. However I suspect you know all this and are just trolling for an argument.
