I was wonering how long it would take for someone to mention..."what if
you're standing next to the sun?"




it's these people see so many trees...they never see a forest.


96 percent of the universe is cold, and these girls are hugging the
other 4 percent.



When you have billions and billions of stars...in only 4 percent of the
universe...

it's going to take a lot to cool it down....otherwise the computer will
crash.

heat..

when we were very tiny, and 4 billion years ago, the oven was hotter ?

Where the gubberment claimed that men were on the moon in full unrelenting 
sun, where temperatures exceeded 400 C, but air conditioning packs kept them 
from cooking to well done in an hour, and keeping the equipment from 
melting.
How do you get rid of heat, in a vacuum ?

Apollo suits used circulating water in a skin-tight underwear with 
circulating cold water.  Heat was transferred from the water to an external 
device in which ice could sublimate, in the vacuum.  This carried away 
enough heat to keep astronauts comfortable, but it used up a certain amount 
of water so EVAs could last only a few hours.

Your silly skepticism is pathetic.  You can look up the details of 
spacesuits on any number of web sites.

So while the austronauts were in full sun, in the vacuum of space,.....ICE 
could form in their packs ???
And this was taken care of by some sort of water evaporation ????
Yet there was no sign of any steam being vented, that would be carrying away 
that excess heat

The only pathetic thing is that you have no knowlege of physics or thermo / 
fluid dynamics, and fall for some NASA claptrap on a website.
But ask yourself why over 50 years later, we still have not been able to buy 
such a magical air conditioning system on earth to put in our homes and cars 
?

Yes, by design.

No, by refrigeration and sublimation of ice.

There was no visible steam because it was direct sublimation of ice to water 
vapor in a vacuum.  Water vapor is invisible, something you do not seem to 
know.  Steam is condensed water vapor.

I got an "A" in Thermo; what did you get?

If the Apollo missions were faked, the Soviets would have had a wonderful 
time showing the world how the wicked American Capitalists had fooled 
everyone.  They didn't; why not?

An air conditioning system based on ice sublimation would not be possible in 
an atmosphere because ice would not sublimate.  But it works perfectly well 
in a vacuum.  I thought you were claiming to know a lot about 
thermodynamics?  Even the system used by the astronauts was a bit of a power 
hog.  Our normal air conditioning systems work fairly well in cars and 
homes.  They use energy to compress gas into a liquid then let it expand 
(reducing in temperature, and exchanging with heat in the air in the car).

No, there is no such thing as you say, as HEAT energy can not be used to 
form ice.
Not even getting into the question of where the water to make the ice would 
come from.
You don't even know how ice sublimation works, and that it would not only 
have been impractical for use by apollo, but downright impossible.

Heat has to be disipated, and those packs had no venting or radiating 
ability whatsoever.
Especially in unrenting direct sunlight without even an atmoshpere to filter 
out any part of the radiation.

And speaking of cars,....even with air around one to disspate heat, a car 
sitting in the sun ON EARTH, gets awfully hot both inside and out.
Now imagine if there were no air around it to disspate even part of that 
heat. Paint would bubble. plastic would melt

OK, so tell me how my home freezer works.  It makes lots of ice.

From the supply used for drinking water, according to NASA.  This is one 
reason why they had to have relatively short EVAs on the surface (a few 
hours).

This explains, I am sure, why NASA says that this is the system they used.

OK, let's see, NASA and all the scientists and engineers who worked there on 
the Apollo program and later space missions were fools, ignorant, and liars. 
Yet somehow with all those handicaps they sent men to the Moon, not once but 
several times.  The Russians caught them at it and there were huge headlines 
in all the newspapers, but no one noticed because no one paid any attention 
to headlines.

But you have to radiate it out faster than it coming in.
And how does a sealed system radiate heat ?

Look for yourself at any apollo spacesuit picture, and then you tell me how 
anything can be radiated (in very simple terms) WITHOUT a radiator ?
