I've never said that government never lies. You know that. But on the other hand, I know a firefighter and a 2nd grade teacher personally. They both work for the government. Neither of them have demonstrated to me that they are "people who have been shown to be liars on numerous occasions". So would it be a mistake to say that if you're in the government, you can't be trusted? Here's an interesting case: Boyd Bushman. Worked for the government. Proven to have lied, on his deathbed no less. When people make assertions (LIKE SAY LIGO!) in science it is considered proper to be skeptical and demand corroboration. That can be your personal observations or reports of those you may trust more than those making the original assertions. There is not perfect "truth" except in your fantasy religious world.
