NASA teased its news conference about flowing water on Monday with the tag, “Mars Mystery Solved." 
The agency has said the paper’s release wasn't coordinated with the film and that the timing was coincidental.

why, that would come from the plants that are grown, they breath in CO2 
and exhale O2. say 1000 potato plants per 1 hour of generator running.

Not sure if NASA would let anyone bring cans of gasoline along inside 
the spaceship. Unless the spaceship is gasoline powered. but there is 
the missing O2 problem again.

Perhaps just grow Microbes and eat them, already have a slew of them 
with each person.

Great idea other than the air is too thin, the temperature too low,
no available water, no source of nitrogen and the Sun pretty dim for
growing anything.

No need for burning gasoline, jimp. All the CO2 on Mars creates massive 
warming that keeps the place hot. Just use the heat and CO2 to make food!

Why would you bother growing anything? There's plenty of food already -
it's where Mars bars are made.  ;-)
