The thing is that unconstitutional laws can be enforced against those who have no resources to fight them for a long time before someone with the resources is able to challenge the law, and take it all the way through the courts.  It might take 5 years before such a law is overturned.

In another 2nd amendment issue, a Hillsboro student has been punished and made to apologize for putting up a banner at his school saying "Build the Wall!"  They said it went against the accepting and inclusive policy of the school!  How can a student be punished for merely echoing what one of the major political party nominees has said?

A wide ranging law such as this would likely attract some group pro bono.

Local school policy has a different set of rules and is unlikely to attract
the attention of any well funded group that a state law would.
