Yawn. It's like the 4 minute mile, Sammy. Until some breaks the 100 MPH 
"barrier" it's all just posers trying and failing.

I can recall, in the same contest, that the first bicycle to exceed 55MPH 
received an honorary speeding ticket from the Nevada State Police.

(Yes, 55MPH.  That gives you some idea of how long ago that was.)
