If your boat is as you claim, you need not worry about the Coast Guard firing a shot across your bow as no marina will let you launch an unregistered boat in the first place and it is the Sheriffs that will be impounding your boat and issuing the tickets, which will be the start of all the fines and penaltys you will have to pay.
